The uniform tells one story; the soul often tells another. In this introductory episode, we explore why this project exists, the heart behind it, and the urgent need for a gospel-centered framework for soul care for our first responders. We sit down with a veteran firefighter and a recently retired police officer turned therapist to talk honestly about the weight most people never see: cumulative stress, moral injury, and the quiet soul residue that follows you home after the sirens fade. No sensational war stories, just real talk about how the job can harden a tender heart and how grace can soften it again. We connect the science of trauma with the hope of the gospel: pain tries to write our identity, but only the gospel can restore our true identity in Christ.
