Retro Game Redux
Do you remember the first romhack you played? romhacking.net has likely played a part in its existence in some way. The site – the largest of it’s kind – has been the one-stop source of romhack patches, development resources, and knowledge-sharing for an active community since it started in 2003. On August 1st, the site’s owner announced that it was shutting down for good. On this episode, we take a look at its history, impact, and the drama surrounding its demise. * romhacking.net – https://www.romhacking.net [https://www.romhacking.net] * Gideon Zhi on X – https://x.com/GideonZhi/status/1819215914988196204 [https://x.com/GideonZhi/status/1819215914988196204] * RGR Live on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RGRPodcast [https://www.youtube.com/@RGRPodcast] * Scuba on twitch: https://twitch.tv/scubasaul [https://twitch.tv/scubasaul] * Kirb on twitch: https://twitch.tv/thekirblet [https://twitch.tv/thekirblet] * RGR Twitter: https://twitter.com/retrogameredux [https://twitter.com/retrogameredux] To hear more about the new lives of old video games, and the communities they inspire, follow Retro Game Redux [https://www.retrogameredux.com/subscribe-to-podcast-2/] wherever you listen to podcasts.
