Where will Brendan Sorsby be in September?

Get ready to hate-watch Texas Tech. Brendan Sorsby will play for the Red Raiders in 2026.

Brendan Sorsby was awarded an injunction that effectively allows him to play for Texas Tech for the 2026 season. The NCAA will attempt to appeal the ruling, but at this point it seems like the NCAA is a toothless tiger and utterly impotent.  Agree or disagree with the ruling, this makes Texas Tech must watch TV for 2026. Fans of any team in college will have a reason to tune into a Texas Tech game to see if justice is being served or if Tech and Sorsby are 'getting away with it' so to speak. This could also be a sign that we are in a new world where gambling and betting on your own team is no longer the deal breaker it used to be. Perhaps we are crossing into a world where you need to be proven to have actually fixed a game to be punished.  At this point the NCAA seems like a relic that has no authority and a new system needs to be put in place.

Steelers: One more year with Aaron Rogers, one more quick playoff exit?

Aaron Rodgers is back for what he says will be his final season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is a catch 22 for Steelers fans because Rodgers is better than any other quarterback on the team, but likely not good enough to get to a Super Bowl.  This leaves them in a familiar position of finishing with a middle of the pack first round draft pick in 2027 which will likely leave them on the outside looking in for their next franchise QB.

Where will Brendan Sorsby be in September?

In today's episode we discuss the Brendan Sorsby situation with Texas Tech and what the possible outcomes are in the coming months. He has hired attorney Jeffrey Kessler who has multiple recent wins against the NCAA and also represented high profile NFL players.  NIL makes this case much less clear than previous gambling cases with the NCAA. If he were to stay in college and be eligible to play, Texas Tech should be the favorite to win the BIG 12.  If he is denied eligibility, Sorsby could go to the NFL supplemental draft in July where teams can bid on him. If this happens, Sorsby could be on an NFL roster competing for a spot in September.

Offseason sucks, at least we have the NFL Draft to talk about.

It's painful waiting for the next season of NFL and college football to start. The NFL draft at least provides a bit of entertainment. In today's episode we at least try to come up with something interesting to talk about from the results of the first round.  Just like every other draft, it's all just speculation and guessing. Nobody will know if any of these picks were the 'right' pick until we see them playing on Sundays.

Despite a lower than normal sack and tackle total last year, Sexy Dexy is still an elite defensive tackle, and most of the NFL would love to have him on their roster.  We chat about where he could go if the Giants do give him what he wants to retain his services.
