Descripción

In this episode of Shepherd's Talk, Pastor Daron breaks down the three categories of believers in 1 Thessalonians 5:14. How do we become a good friend to the unruly, the fainthearted, and the weak? Spiritual friendships begin with our individual relationship with the Lord. If our relationship with the Lord is struggling, we will also struggle in our relationships with one another. Being a good friend requires patience and accurate self evaluation in the revealing light of God's Word.

Ep. 12 - Biblical Missions and Outreach

in this episode of Shepherd's Talk, Pastor Daron, Scott Maxwell, and Daniel Dorfsmith share the biblical heartbeat behind Cornerstone's missions and outreach efforts. We want to be focusing our resources in the places that the Spirit of God is doing a work through local church planting all over the world. With "missions" being the outward focus far from home and "outreach" being close to home church planting and strengthening, God's plan for the world begins to take shape in local churches. You may never be a missionary, but by extension, you are fulfilling the Great Commission through your faithfulness in a local church. Join us as Pastor Daron interviews Scott Maxwell who is one of our staff members and the president of Finisterre Missions.

Ep. 10 - The Rise of Self Expression and It's Impact on Worship

What is the danger of self expression and how does it affect your heart as a worshipper of the Lord? While it is not wrong to be creative and to demonstrate the unique ways in which the Lord has created us as worshippers, self expression is actually a prideful thought process when we begin to attempt worshipping God through the lens of self. The dangers and pitfalls of self expression are tied to self elevation. The heart is deceitful and we need instruction from outside of us in the Scriptures to inform our worship. Worship is meant to be done in Spirit and truth as a way of life. Corporate body life is impacted greatly when self is elevated. preaching, music, the one another's, and everything that happens on a Sunday is meant to be done selflessly in worship of the Lord for His glory and the benefit of others. As a worshipper, our entire lives become worship. Parenting, marriage, vacations, hobbies, interests, sports, all is for the glory of God. Join us as Pastor Daron and Daniel talk about how self expression creeps into every area of life and begins to affect our true worship .
