The dangers and pitfalls of self expression are tied to self elevation. The heart is deceitful and we need instruction from outside of us in the Scriptures to inform our worship. Worship is meant to be done in Spirit and truth as a way of life. Corporate body life is impacted greatly when self is elevated. preaching, music, the one another's, and everything that happens on a Sunday is meant to be done selflessly in worship of the Lord for His glory and the benefit of others. As a worshipper, our entire lives become worship. Parenting, marriage, vacations, hobbies, interests, sports, all is for the glory of God.
