Bhai Narien Singh has been actively involved in the Sikh movement since the events of Saka 1978. In this interview, Bhai Narien Singh reveals many important details publicly for the first time. Under a special series of interviews with representatives of Sikh organizations, Panthic Jathas, Sikh institutions and Sikh intellectuals, Sikh Siyasat is exploring their understanding of the current crisis grippling the Sikh institutions, like SGPC and Akal Takht, and their vision for its solution. This is 12th exclusive interview conducted by Journalist Mandeep Singh under this series. This time he talks with Bhai Mandhir Singh of Panth Sewak Jatha Doaba to know his vision for How Can Sikhs Restore a Sovereign Structure to Uphold Patshahi Dava at Akal Takht?

The security landscape between India and Pakistan has significantly shifted following India’s launch of Operation Sindoor and the ensuing four-day air war between May 7 and May 10, 2025. Since then, the Indian military has acknowledged the loss of several aircraft and confirmed that China facilitated Pakistan during the conflict. Recently, Indian Army Vice Chief Lt. Gen. Rahul Singh revealed that during Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) level talks, Pakistan disclosed intelligence about India’s “important vectors” being primed and ready for action. He said this indicates Pakistan was receiving real-time satellite updates from China. India has since conducted a series of missile tests and is rapidly upgrading infrastructure at an airbase near the China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s geopolitical stature has risen significantly after the war. In a major development, China has committed to supply forty J-35A stealth fighter jets to Pakistan—an advancement expected to alter the balance of military assets in the region. To discuss and analyze these critical developments, journalist Mandeep Singh speaks with Sikh Siyasat Editor Parmjeet Singh Gazi.

Punjab is currently passing through a highly sensitive phase. With rapidly shifting international and regional dynamics, South Asia’s geopolitical fault lines are directly impacting the region. The evolving India-Pakistan security scenario is also casting a significant shadow over Punjab. Amidst these developments, Punjab faces a surge in internal issues, most notably the increasing trend of police encounters. On 13 July 2025, during a “Zabar Virodhi Rally” (Rally Against Atrocities) held at Tapa Mandi, prominent socio-political activist Lakha Sidhana strongly condemned these encounters and raised serious concerns about human rights violations. In this speech, Lakha Sidhana speaks out on the pressing issues confronting Punjab and calls for accountability and justice.

Sikh politics in Punjab is currently in a state of disarray, resulting in the mismanagement of key Sikh institutions, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Akal Takht Sahib. On 30 June 2025, during a Gurmat Samagam held at village Jaura Madhra, Bhai Sukhdeep Singh Meekay of Panth Sewak Jatha Majha delivered a critical analysis of the current Sikh political landscape, drawing connections to the events of 1984 and their lasting impact. As global and regional dynamics continue to shift, meaningful dialogue and clarity within Sikh affairs have become more essential than ever. Listen to this thought-provoking lecture and share it widely to encourage deeper understanding and reflection.
