On Thanksgiving Eve 1971, a man calling himself D.B Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727, secured a $200,000 ransom and parachuted into the night - Never to be seen again. No body was ever found, there have been no confirmed sightings and for many, no closure to the case. Decades have passed and theories have mounted as high as the suspect lists and all we have is a trail of clues that refuse to add up. We go through the socioeconomic climate in the pacific north west at the time to see if that could hint at a motive, we explore airport security in 1971 and how this made the perfect stage for hijackers, we explore the timeline of what happened that day, breakdown the most compelling suspects, evidence and theories, and bring up the unanswered questions that haunt both official investigators and amateur sleuths. EP 41: THE DISAPPEARANCE OF NANCY GUTHRIE - WHAT DO WE REALLY KNOW SO FAR

Hello Spooky Kooks!Join us for this week's episode breaking down the recent abduction of 84 year old Nancy Guthrie. On January 31st 2026, Nancy joined her family for dinner and games before she was dropped back to her house. On February 1st, the next morning, Nancy was due to go to her friends house to watch a virtual church service but never arrives. Her family are contacted who then call 911 and police attend her home to do a welfare check, but Nancy is not there, and chillingly, captured on her security camera is footage of a masked man, suggesting where ever she is, she did not go on her own accord. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, yet we still do not have answers to what happened to Nancy. Police whilst investigating, will only give limited information to the public causing speculation and theories to run wild online and spread like wildfire often blurring the line between fact and fiction. In this episode we go over the known confirmed timeline from law enforcement before we look at some of the common theories to see if there's any weight to them. As this is an ongoing recent case, our thoughts are with Nancy's family, friends and community. We also want to remain optimistic that Nancy is safe and well although statistically it is not looking good. Whatever the outcome, we hope that her family receive the answers they are desperately searching for.
