Supplemental Figures
Welcome to Supplemental Figures, a conversational interview series where we trade the rigid objectivity of academia for the fleeting beauty of the people behind the data. In a research paper, "supplemental figures" are the extra pieces of information deemed non-critical for the main text, yet essential to include. This podcast addresses a gap I noticed while competing in the University of Melbourne 3MT Grand Finals: science often scrubs the "human" element away until researchers are unrecognizable. Hosted by Aaron Agostini ---- a PhD researcher in the School of Biosciences, writer, and former haunted Christmas store employee ---- this show is an invitation to be silly, fun, and unsupervised. Each episode features researchers and creatives discussing their personal lives and support networks (their own supplemental figures) rather than just their raw results. Expect deep dives into the irrational, absurd, and full of a third thing. This is a space where being statistically insignificant is finally a good thing. 🩸✍️ buy a sticker here: https://ko-fi.com/s/4514bcff95 [https://ko-fi.com/s/4514bcff95] linktree: https://linktr.ee/supplementalfigures [https://linktr.ee/supplementalfigures]
