Meet Elle Vanderbilt the secret tech genius Dr. Nova who gets dumped by her husband for an imposter then flash marries a handsome stranger only to discover hes the CEO of her exs biggest rival company. Sounds juicy right? Well it should be but between the trash to tech laptop build (yes she literally digs through recycling to make a computer) and a banquet scene that came way too early we had to call it quits. Ji made it through the full preview (bless her) while Tiffany tapped out at 10 minutes and 24 seconds because sometimes you just know. But don't worry were not just here to roast. Were also celebrating the strong female lead (even if we had to therapy check why we couldn't finish it) the Filipino rep (shoutout to Jeff Lawless) and the sheer audacity of vertical drama tropes. This week on Talk Drama To Me we are skating solo into ‘Faking It With The Hockey Captain’, a vertical drama that had us on the edge. We open with a young girl who gets labeled violent after breaking a young boy's nose with a puck. Six years later the girl and the boy reunite at school where their fiery history reignites. After a cheating scandal the teen girl impulsively kisses the teen boy leading to a one night stand that neither can forget. Their chemistry is undeniable but so is their rivalry. When the girl is harassed by bullies the boy steps in to defend her only to realize she is the same girl who broke his nose years ago. Their verbal sparring turns physical when the girl storms out of the locker room topless falling into the boy's arms in front of the whole school.  As they navigate fake dating to fend off the guy’s stalker and the girl's bullies their feelings become increasingly real. From library rescues to dreamy kisses their connection deepens even as the guy’s jealousy flares when the girl's childhood friend reenters the picture. When the guy’s stalker frames the girl for stealing the hockey team's playbook the guy uses his hacker skills to clear her name. After exposing the stalker’s schemes the girl and the guy finally admit their feelings.
