Talking Heat: Chef ABQ
On this episode of Talking Heat, Slug, Turk, and Hot Sauce Guide sit down with Chef Brian Bartbow. Chef Bartbow is a private Chef in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has fully immersed himself into the hot sauce industry. From hot sauce awards judge, to remixing recipes with various types of hot sauce, to now hosting an annual internet famous dinner party with Hot Sauce Guide the night before the Fiery Foods Show. The boys sit down and discuss football in a respectful manner (as all 4 root for AFC North team). Chef tells us how he got into the culinary field and what his day to day looks like. We learn about his process and how he maps everything out during his meals and meal prep. Slug and HSG try the nacho recipe they made that chef provided, although Slug maybe started a bit earlier than planned (like a lot bit earlier). Turk feeling under the weather, did not make his nachos until after the recording but do check out the incredible pictures he has. The guys talked about what they like to cook and chef drops some special nuggets on how to amp up your favorite recipes. Kiwi anyone? Season 2, Ep. 3 On this episode of Talking Heat, FGC and I sit down with Shaun of Sauce Leopard. Someone new drops the first F bomb of the episode, beating Slug to the punch. The boys get to know Shaun, and how he got into the sauce game. We reminisce about the Fiery Foods Show and get some insight into his flavorful and spicy creations. Bird Blood was on tap, as we got to try it out and uncover all of the thanksgiving goodies we wanted to try it on. They discuss art, music, and sauce and how they’re intertwined. David explains his process and how he comes up with new sauce. Enamored with David’s labels, HSG asks him to discuss his artistic and eye popping labels for his sauce. The guys discuss Only Fans, Tinder, and boobs on labels. Talking Heat: Big Red's Hot Sauce
As we close out Season 1 of Talking Heat, we sit down with Paul from Big Reds Hot Sauce. Our conversation runs the gamut, taking about how Paul got started, the evolution of Big Reds, what the Flavor Tour is, and how he ended up releasing 10 sauces for his 10 year anniversary. We try some delicious hot sauce and Slug is still a little bitter Big Reds knocked out Secret Aardvark in the 2021 Hot Sauce March Tournament. Big Reds did come back big and win it all in 2022. We talk about the future of Big Reds and how Paul would love to sponsor the Arizona Cardinals. We might even kick start a campaign to get a Kyler Murray his own flavor of Big Reds.
