In this episode, artist and arts leader Jill Cliffer Baratta, MFA, NAWA, shares an honest and inspiring look into her creative journey. Growing up in the Chicago area, studying in western Michigan, and moving to New York City in 1976, her path has been shaped by a rich and diverse artistic education at institutions including the School of Visual Arts, Grand Valley State University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, along with studies in art therapy at The College of New Rochelle and dance at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Currently the Executive Director of the National Association of Women Artists, where she was inducted in 2011 and served as president from 2017 to 2019, Jill also brings extensive experience teaching art and facilitating art therapy for students of all ages. In this conversation, she speaks on the transformative power of art therapy, the importance of authenticity and diversity in artistic expression, and the evolving role of women in the arts.
