Technocracy
America is captivated by the twisted minds of serial killers. But while we're consumed by the tales of murder and madness, we rarely think about the technology used to identify these murderers. That's where [https://www.murderdata.org/p/who-we-are.html]comes in. A former investigative journalist and White House correspondent, Thomas created an algorithm that collects information about murders by gathering data about related killings and checks if a city’s unsolved murder rate is high, which can indicate the presence of a serial killer. As a result of this algorithm, two cities opened new homicide investigations, leading to the arrest of a serial killer in one city and a special case review in another. Through his organization Murder Accountability Project, Thomas is tackling one unsolved homicide at a time. But his work goes beyond just finding killers -- Thomas is also trying to understand why homicides are spiking in America.
