That One Thing
This episode just hits a little different. Like I always say, these conversations keep getting more and more special to me. I met Steph through The Post, an incredible community of former collegiate and professional athletes who continue to push themselves long after their playing days are over. It’s a community filled with inspiring people, and Steph is absolutely one of them. Right after this interview, I had a feeling I’ve had a few times doing this podcast — I just knew this was someone who would become a friend. Steph feels like she’s lived nine lives. She’s a Marine veteran, a sober woman active in AA, a former collegiate athlete, a founder, an influential fitness instructor, and someone building a successful corporate career. But beyond the titles, she’s deeply intentional, thoughtful, and kind. We talk about reinvention and the discipline it takes to keep evolving through different chapters of life — from the Marine Corps to athletics, sobriety, and entrepreneurship. Her reminder is simple but powerful: asking for help doesn’t make you weaker, it makes you stronger. And when we open up about our stories, we give others permission to do the same. I’m grateful to now call Steph a friend. You don’t want to miss this one.
