March 27 - Pure Motives

MARCH 27 — James 4:1-3 (KJV) “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” Do you ever wonder why your prayers seem to go unanswered? You ask, you plead, but nothing changes. Could it be that your desires are misaligned with God’s will? In James 4:1-3, you are confronted with a hard truth: sometimes, you don’t receive because you either fail to ask or you ask with selfish motives. You crave what will satisfy your flesh, but God longs to fulfill what will satisfy your soul. The battle you face is not just with others—it’s the war within yourself. Only by surrendering your desires to Him can you experience the peace and fulfillment you seek.

March 25 - Speak Life

MARCH 25 (James 3:10, KJV) "Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be."  Do your words build others up or tear them down? James 3:10 reminds you that the same mouth that praises God can also speak hurtful words. This devotion challenges you to be intentionally encouraging today—offering compliments, expressing gratitude, and speaking life. Let your words reflect Christ’s love and bring blessing to those around you.
