In episode one, we are so very excited to have Dr Scott Arthur, a Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Edinburgh South West, elected in July 2024. His landmark achievement is The Rare Cancers Act, which he introduced as a Private Members' Bill and successfully steered into UK law in early 2026. After Scott’s Father-in-law was diagnosed with glioblastoma (grade 4 brain tumour, 12-18 month prognosis) he understood this landscape on a personal level. Wanting to do more for brain tumours he found a way to develop the Rare Cancers Bill, which has newly had royal ascent and become an act.
