The Merge
In this episode of The Merge, we reflect on Psalm 31:1–5, 15–16 and the quiet strength of one of Scripture’s most sustaining lines: “My times are in your hand.” This is not a word spoken from comfort, but from vulnerability. The psalmist prays from a place of need and uncertainty yet still entrusts life to God. This devotion invites us to consider the difference between living by control and living by trust. In a world that trains us to stay anxious, reactive, and guarded, Psalm 31 offers a steadier way. Faith is not mastery over life. Faith is entrustment of life to God. As you listen, consider what it means to bring your present season; its burdens, decisions, and unknowns before the One who holds your times in mercy and faithfulness. Key Takeaways: * Psalm 31 speaks from the middle of vulnerability, not from ease. * “My times are in your hand” is a confession of trust, not denial. * Faith is not about controlling outcomes, but entrusting ourselves to God. * Prayer can steady us before hard conversations, hard decisions, and uncertain seasons. * Christian courage begins not in certainty, but in knowing that we are held. Closing Prayer: Faithful God, you are our refuge and our peace. In times of uncertainty, teach us to trust you. In moments when fear tightens our hearts, remind us that our lives are held in your care. Grant us grace to do the next faithful thing with steadiness, humility, and peace. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
