We'll talk about two important early chamber music works by Brahms: the Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major, Op. 18, and the Piano Quartet in G Minor. Op. 25.

We'll look at both versions of the trio, the original completed in 1854, and the second version completed in 1889.

We'll look at Brahms' Variations on a Hungarian Song, Op. 21, No. 2; Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann, Op. 9; Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 21, No. 1; and Variations on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24.

We'll talk about Brahms' four Ballades from Op. 10, composed in 1854.
