Soothing Mindfulness Meditation Session #1: 'The Healing Power of Joy'

Beloved, There is a difference between happiness and joy which is important to our spiritual growth and wellbeing. Happiness: * While there is nothing wrong in pursuing ‘happiness’, happiness alone is a brief temporary emotion associated with ourselves. It's all about self-satisfaction. There are many things in this world we can do that might allow us feel happiness temporarily, but ultimately they could leave us feeling empty just as quickly. * We can experience happiness through various situations including moments when buying a new outfit, watching a comedy, seeing friends again after a long time, travelling to a new destination, winning something etc…. and the list goes on. It is also interesting to note that not all experiences associated with happiness are good for us. For example, eating a very scrumptious meal which is unhealthy for our bodies. Joy: * Unlike happiness, 'Joy' is achieved through an action which is good for someone else. So Beloved, even if you are temporarily going through a period of unhappiness, when you take steps to act towards someone else’s wellbeing, your infinite joy will start to increase and lead to you to experience long lasting inspired happiness, strength, hope, peace and love. This is the healing power of joy. * In its fuller spiritual meaning, joy can be described as deep-rooted, very long lasting inspired happiness which gives healing and balance. Therefore, Beloved, as you go about your usual business and interests, live mindfully with the thought that you can have the absolute healing power of joy by simply helping others. In Jesus name, I declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength! Blessings!
