Descripción

Gaming design and VFX studios have been exploring ways to embrace a more remote workforce over the past several years. The pandemic has accelerated this trend, where studios were forced to provide workers remote access to the high-end workstations needed to do their jobs. As the pandemic slows, studios are seeking to learn from the lessons of the past year to help formulate a more permanent strategy to support remote workers.   In this 11 minute episode, we introduce the series by defining what artists need and want in an ideal workspace - whether the space is remote, or in studio.   Six Nines IT Cloud Insiders: - Doug Goldenberg - Alex Kline - Brad T. Rutledge

Creating the Ideal Design Studio. Episode #2: Showcasing a Successful Remote Artist Experience

In this 13-minute episode, Six Nines showcases how an artist working remotely (on the cloud) can have the same, if not better, experience as compared to working in the studio with a powerful workstation under their desk. Alex Kline of Six Nines leads a demonstration using common artist tools (Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine 5 Beta and a YouTube video), while accessing a virtual computing environment via AWS that is 800 miles away. Six Nines Doug Goldenberg asks common questions he receives while working with game development and VFX studios seeking to implement a remote work environment. AUDIENCE NOTE: This episode features a screen share demonstration showing an artist working remotely on the cloud. If viewing the demo is important, you can watch the embedded video on the Six Nines blog, The Cloud Insider here. [https://hubs.ly/H0Qnr8z0]
