Episode 5: Judaha Amoroso
My name is Judaha Amoroso. In July 2019, after graduating from college, I formed a digital platform called the Black and Brown Kinnection (BBK) on Instagram. I wanted to create a platform on social media to speak about the realities of the post-graduate realm. I have also been able to work as a Social media manager and help other people come up with content ideas and graphic designs. Since graduating college in 2019, my life has had its highs and lows but every day I am learning about myself and falling back in love with my journey.
Episode 4: Kayla Ousley
My name is Kayla Ousley. I graduated from ISU in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I plan on attending grad school soon to obtain my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, hopefully this year. As my education journey and career continues, I desire to become a Child Psychologist.
Episode 3: Kayla Haulcy
My name is Kayla Haulcy and I am the proud owner/CEO of Slay By Kay Cosmetics. I started my brand in May of 2020 during the peak of Covid-19. Since then, my business has been thriving and I’ve been pursing new business ventures. I look forward to what 2023 and the years to come have in store for myself and my business!

Episode 1: Lauryn Bergert
Meet Lauryn Bergert. Lauryn Bergert (she/her) is a current doctoral student at Roosevelt University, pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She is a 2021 graduate of Dominican University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Black World Studies. Lauryn came to find her passion for fighting for social justice during her undergraduate career. She is a social justice activist fighting for all human rights—racial equity, reproductive rights, affordable access to resources, destigmatizing mental health, and so much more. Social justice work goes far beyond protesting and organizing, and Lauryn works to show people the different avenues of fighting the good fight, no matter what your strengths may be. Lauryn has recently launched a podcast entitled, “Happy You’re Here: A Podcast with Lauryn Bergert,” which is a safe space for people to share their experiences and journeys of navigating this world.
