Descripción

The episode you're about to listen to comes in two parts. I'm chatting with my friend Jonathan Chandler. Jonathan is a very talented author who I would say doesn't write, but paints with words. Part one of our discussion covers one of the projects he's working on, "Strength of the Sheperd" and his creative process as well as our take on the fantasy genre. In part two we go over things going on in the fictional space, covering some of the big releases during E3 and more. I hope you enjoy.  Intro provided by Bensound.

Episode 5: When Trolling Becomes Terrorism

Todays episode is a solo monologue. It’s my intent to do a podcast a week, alternating between an interview and a monologue on a topic that’s either relevant or covers one of my interests. My original aim was to do an episode regarding privacy and information security, fields that I work in  professionally. However due to recent events that episode will have to wait. This weekend we had 3 mass shootings. One currently of indeterminate cause in Chicago, another in Dayton, Ohio, also of indeterminate cause. I’ll be focusing on the shooting in El Paso. This one is particularly intriguing, not due to the normal fare that many news sites and content creators typically would focus on. The gun debate. The mental health debate. What kind of disaffected affluenza afflicted the shooter. I want people to understand that this type of lone wolf terrorism is surprisingly common,

Episode 4: Myostatin Antagonist Applications With Dr. Mark Hamrick of Augusta University

In this episode I talk to Augusta University's Dr. Mark W. Hamrick. The focus of Dr. Hamricks research is to improve human health by discovering new therapeutic approaches for preventing muscle and bone loss with aging and enhancing muscle and bone repair after injury. He and his team are particularly interested in defining the cellular and molecular mechanisms of crosstalk among bone and soft tissues such as muscle and fat so that these pathways can be targeted therapeutically in order to prevent and treat bone fractures. In the area of muscle-bone interactions,  myostatin (GDF8) is a powerful inhibitor of muscle growth and regeneration, and myostatin deficiency significantly increases muscle mass.
