Jody Sperling has created more than 50 works. She is considered the world’s leading exponent of the style of early modern dancer and performance technologist Loïe Fuller (1862-1928). Sperling has expanded Fuller’s genre into the 21st century, deploying it in the context of contemporary and environmental performance forms. She is currently Eco-Artist-in-Residence at The New York Society for Ethical Culture. She appears on the podcast to discuss her upcoming event, SOUND EARTH MOTION, a performance & Gala featuring the Time Lapse Dance ensemble with live musical performances by composer Matthew Burtner, The MET Orchestra musicians, and pianist Jeffrey Middleton. The podcast returns with an episode recorded on location, at the home of Roger Berle, a resident of Cliff Island, Maine. Roger is the founder of ACE, a non-profit conservation group, and was involved in the making of "The Whales of August", a feature film that was made on the island in the 1980s (starring Betty Davis, Lillian Gish, Vincent Price, and many others).
