Have you ever had one tiny comment, attitude, or situation set you off way more than it probably should have? In today’s episode of The Hall Hotline, we talk about a simple but powerful reminder from Jon’s friend Chris: “If people can push your buttons… those are YOUR buttons.” This devotional looks at how difficult people often reveal what is already inside us — insecurity, pride, fear, bitterness, exhaustion, or old wounds that God still wants to heal. We talk about: • Why certain things trigger us more than others • The difference between reacting and responding • How God uses conviction without condemnation • Why peace does not mean the absence of difficult people • How Psalm 139 teaches us to invite God to search our own hearts first Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:23 Today’s Challenge: Before blaming someone else for pushing your buttons, ask yourself: Why does that button exist in the first place? What might God be trying to heal in me? Thanks for listening today. And remember—stand firm and walk humbly with the Lord. That’s the Hall way. #ChristianPodcast #DailyDevotional #Faith #SpiritualGrowth #TheHallHotline

Daily Devotional: God Doesn’t Waste the Struggle

Episode 89: Daily Devotional: God Doesn't Waste the Struggle Description: Romans 5 is absolutely loaded with encouragement, but one section especially grabbed my attention this morning: "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." That is so backwards from how the world thinks. Most of us spend our lives trying to avoid suffering. We pray for easier roads, fewer struggles, and less pain. But Paul reminds us that God often does some of His greatest work in the middle of our hardest seasons. In this episode: • Why suffering is not always something to escape • How perseverance is forged through difficult seasons • The connection between character and hope • Why God doesn't waste our struggles • How Christ meets us in the middle of our pain • Finding purpose when life doesn't make sense Scriptures Discussed: • Romans 5:3-5 • James 1:2-4 • Isaiah 40:31 • 2 Corinthians 4:17 • Psalm 34:18 • Romans 8:28 Today's Challenge: • Instead of asking, "God, remove this struggle," ask, "God, what are You teaching me through it?" • Write down one way God may be using your current challenge to strengthen your faith. • Trust that even if you can't see the purpose today, God is still at work. Closing Thought: • Your struggle may be part of God's process. • God is still working, even when you can't see it. • He doesn't waste pain, disappointment, setbacks, or suffering. • Hope in Christ is not wishful thinking—it's confidence in God's promises. • The same God who walks with you through the valley is the God who leads you out of it. Thanks for listening today. And remember—stand firm and walk humbly with the Lord. That's the Hall way. #TheHallHotline #DailyDevotional #Romans5 #ChristianFaith #HopeInChrist

Daily Devotional: Special Episode - 15 Year Old Christian’s First Sermon - The Beatitudes

In this powerful episode, Christian shares a heartfelt sermon on the Beatitudes from Matthew 5 and what it truly means to live a life that reflects Jesus. From admitting our need for God, to mourning over sin, to learning what biblical meekness really looks like, this conversation is a reminder that the Christian walk is not about perfection — it’s about surrender. Christian opens up with personal stories, practical examples, and honest reflections about pride, anger, confidence in Scripture, and trusting God even when life feels difficult. He explains how the Beatitudes are not weaknesses, but a roadmap to righteousness and a picture of the very character of Christ Himself. This episode challenges us to: • Admit our need for God • Stop building false versions of ourselves • Mourn over sin instead of excusing it • Be strong, but under control • Trust the promises Jesus gives to His people • Walk with confidence in the truth of Scripture Whether you are struggling spiritually, trying to grow in your faith, or simply looking for encouragement, this episode points listeners back to Jesus as the ultimate example of humility, authority, mercy, and strength. Daily Devotional: Jesus and the Old Testament Laws – What Did He Really Teach?

Did Jesus abolish the Old Testament law… or fulfill it? In today’s episode of The Hall Hotline, we tackle one of the most debated questions in Christianity: Why do Christians still follow some Old Testament teachings but not others? We walk through what Jesus actually said in Matthew 5, why He emphasized transformed hearts over outward rule-keeping, and how the New Covenant changes the way believers understand ceremonial laws, food laws, Sabbath rules, and more. This conversation explores: • What Jesus meant by “fulfill the law” • Why Christians eat pork today • The difference between moral and ceremonial laws • Why legalism and “anything goes” theology both miss the point • How grace and obedience work together Scripture References: Matthew 5 Mark 2 Mark 7 Acts 10 Romans 14 Luke 22:20 Today’s Challenge: Spend time reading Jesus’ actual words this week instead of relying on internet arguments. Ask yourself: Was Jesus focused more on rule-following… or transformed hearts? Thanks for listening today. And remember—stand firm and walk humbly with the Lord.
