Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know! [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2502420/fan_mail/new] We go deep on a phrase that shows up again and again in the New Testament but often gets flattened in modern Christian language: being in Christ. We read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and talk about union with Christ, new creation identity, and why so many of us drift into a transactional mindset where “good day” equals close to God and “bad day” equals distant from God. We also connect it to Jesus’ invitation to abide, the reality of the Trinity, and what it means that our life is “hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). We explore a core spiritual formation truth that can feel almost too good to be true: God doesn’t save us by cleaning us up so He can finally enjoy us. He saves us by drawing us into His delight through Jesus, the second Adam, and the Spirit poured out. We end by naming the real obstacle for many of us: unbelief, and we pray a simple prayer of surrender so we can actually receive what God says is already ours. If this helps you, subscribe, share it with someone you love, and leave a review so more people can find these conversations. What part of being “in Christ” feels hardest for you to believe right now?

Revival and Calling: The Long Walk

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know! [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2502420/fan_mail/new] We dive into the long road of revival and calling. Dan shares how God spoke to him decades ago about a youth revival in Atlantic Canada, and how that promise has unfolded in waves, with real fruit and real waiting. Along the way, we talk about the difference between God giving you a vision and you assuming you’re the hero of it. Sometimes the assignment isn’t “lead the charge.” Sometimes it’s “stay planted,” let your roots go deep, and keep believing when the heat turns up. We also get practical about the inner battles that can derail a God-given dream: offense, disappointment, and bitterness. We unpack why forgiveness is not optional for spiritual formation, and why the pursuit of purpose often looks like a cross. If you’re younger and overwhelmed by choices or afraid of getting it wrong, we speak directly to that fear and point to the way God guided Joseph through detours without wasting a single season. If this conversation strengthens you, subscribe to the Hearing God Podcast, share it with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find it.

Revival Starts With A Turned Heart

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know! [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2502420/fan_mail/new] God designed us to hear Him, and a daily rhythm of listening is not optional for a healthy heart. When we feel restless, anxious, or dull, it’s usually a sign our heart is believing something untrue, and the first move is not striving harder. It’s turning toward God, because He is nearer than we imagine. Revival is a waking-up to God's agenda in the present time, and His people are invited to listen, receive, and surrender. We talk about why humility and repentance keep showing up in every genuine move of God, and we ground that in Scripture, including Acts 3:19 and the promise of “times of refreshing” from the presence of the Lord. We also reflect on Daniel 9 and that stunning line that reshapes how we pray: we ask not because we are righteous, but because of God’s great mercy. We discuss lordship and ownership and the places in our heart we still grip with a closed fist, and why surrender can feel scary even when we trust God’s goodness. If you’ve felt like you’re “circling the mountain” and having the same inner conversations again, we offer encouragement: God isn’t wasting time, and He isn’t trying to condemn you. He’s faithfully leading you forward, one heart-turn at a time. If this encouraged you, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more people can learn to hear God better.

Grace Over Performance

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know! [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2502420/fan_mail/new] We explore a simple framework that gets practical fast: love and truth belong together, and fear and lies feed each other. Every day we’re choosing a narrative, and that choice shapes our ability to receive joy, live with courage, and respond to God without shrinking back. We also talk about how the prophetic and hearing God work best when they flow from love, not from pressure, disappointment, or a need to prove ourselves. Finally, we look at Jesus’ model for spiritual authority. He refuses the lone ranger route, stays in union with the Father, and points miracles and revelation back to the Kingdom of God rather than personal validation. That leads to a crucial question for anyone pursuing prophetic gifting, Christian spirituality, and discipleship: are we operating for approval, or from approval? Listen through to the prayer at the end, then share the conversation with a friend, subscribe for weekly talks, and leave a review that helps more people find the podcast.

Speak It Out Loud

Questions? Fun God stories? Let us know! [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2502420/fan_mail/new] Something shifts when you stop keeping God’s prompting in your head and finally say it out loud. We’ve both felt it: you’re praying Scripture, or you’re in a normal moment at work, in a store, in a conversation, and the Holy Spirit puts a clear nudge on your heart.  We dig into why speaking matters in the first place. God creates by speaking, Jesus is the Word from the beginning, and the Bible keeps showing that God’s purposes often move forward through ordinary people who open their mouths. We talk about how declaring Scripture out loud can change spiritual atmosphere, bring peace, and help faith become concrete. We also connect this to spiritual warfare and the armor of God in Ephesians 6, where the sword of the Spirit is not just information on a page, but the timely, spoken word God is saying right now. Discerning when to speak and when to wait, refusing the enemy’s fear-based shutdown, and treating this like a skill you can grow through practice. We share a real story of sensing a prompting in a gas station, driving away, then turning around to go back and speak. No shame, no hype, just partnership and the joy of obedience.  If you want to grow in hearing God’s voice, prophetic encouragement, and speaking with courage, press play, then share this with a friend and leave a review so more people can find the show.
