Episode 12 - Edward Pokropski
Episode 12 with Edward Prokropski is now out! Ed is a comic and the first producer in New York City to hold the first ever Asian Comedy Festival. I had the pleasure to sit down with Ed and we talk about his adoption, being raised in Philly, our experiences with growing up as one of the only Asian people in white neighborhoods, and the success of the Asian Comedy Festival and brand new community that is being built in NYC around Asian comics.
Episode 11 - Kyle Pennant
Episode 11 of the High Note Podcast is out with Kyle Pennant! Asian people and black people share a special connection... and that is the love for anime! Kyle and myself are by no means hyper anime nerds but we both follow most of the big ones and we get deep into our favorite all time anime's. Anime is just like any other form of entertainment. You got the mainstream anime that everyone knows (Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto etc.) but there's a layer of anime right under the giant mainstream like Samurai Champloo or Hajime No Ippo that aren't a million episodes long and just a solid anime you can watch. If you're new to anime and thinking about getting into it, this is the episode for you!
Episode 10 - Gus Tate
Episode 10 of the High Note Podcast is now out! @gustate was born without a vas deferens (the thing that connects your balls to your dick) and so since having a baby naturally was impossible, Gus went about having a science baby! Gus details his experience of going through surgery and getting on the stage the same day, his experience with IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), and as always we top it off with comedy talk.
Episode 9 - Rich Kameda
Episode 9 with magician @richkameda ! Comedy life leads you to weird places and sometimes you get booked on the same show with a magician which is how Rich and I met. Rich has been practicing magic for 28 years and growing up I never knew anyone who was into magic so it was cool to talk to him about everything I wanted to know about magicians! I really think magic is an underappreciated skill with the amount of time and effort it takes to make a good illusion work. We go in depth about his decision to do magic full time, his views on different types of magics, and some of his influences!
Episode 8 - KP Burke
