We've all got one of those friends, haven't we? You know the one I mean. You've known them for years, you see them  out and about at gigs and whatnot.  You don't really connect with them  that much, but you'd feel bad if you totally cut them out.  They call  you every once in a while for a coffee or a beer and as hard as you try  to wriggle out of it, you just can't seem to say no. And that icky, awkward feeling creeps in and you just pray for some  emergency to come up so you can dash off after half and hour or not even  turn up at all. Introducing: The Energy Vampire!! What's the harm, you might ask?  Maybe I'm this persons only friend.   Maybe they're lonely.  It's only an hour or so every once in a while. Well, maybe these things are true, but your primary concern in life  should be, wait for it, YOU!  And if the prospect of an hour of  passive-aggressive narcissism (energy vampires tend to have this  quality) doesn't make you wish the ground would open up and swallow you  whole, then be my guest.
