This week I’ve discovered clear evidence that current prompt engineering methods might be wrongheaded. But instructing AI with endless prompts of ever increasing lists of brittle rules and deterministic directives is apparent best practice. Why an AI Can't Say "I Don't Know"

I have a theory about why LLMs rarely say “I don’t know” or “I’m not sure” that is yet to be disproved. In my ongoing building with AI I’m trying my best to disprove this theory.
