Co-Host Judith Kaluzny (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/judith) Plenty of us as men have not only had our run-ins with what's commonly known as the family law system, we feel as if we've been thoroughly shafted by it. Well, my guest is a retired divorce lawyer and mediator who is out to overthrow the family law system as we know it. Judith Kaluzny is the author of two books, Marriage License Handbook: Rules Of The Road For Getting Married and her upcoming one The American Way of Divorce: A Fraud on Families. Basically, Judith says we need to quit the systems designed with an adversary process as the default, and start over with a mediation system. She says that's because the divorce industry profits at the expense of the wife, husband and especially the children. The costs are financial, emotional and, for young children, developmental. So then, what are the pros and cons of mediating a divorce vs. litigating? What should marital property rules be? Should there be a marriage contract, like we see routinely in business? How does domestic violence factor in? As far as children go, Judith has seven (!) and believes strongly in 'parenting plans' instead of custody battles. What should a relational agreement with a woman look like? And finally, what I think is the centerpiece of her overall position, her argument for post-nuptial agreements rather than simply pre-nups. === SNIPPETS FROM THE SUMMIT === Why is dating and relating to women seemingly so difficult nowadays? Well, it has everything to with post-modern pressures and expectations, of course. As it turns out, our grandparents who have been married for 50 years or more had it figured out all along. But weirdly, not only are most so-called 'dating experts' following the post-modern herd, they're even falling into the trap themselves...as in, with the women in their OWN lives. How did we get this far gone, and more importantly...how do we snap out of it and start relating to women again as humanoids before us did naturally for thousands of years? Co-Host Adam Darrow (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/risk) My first-time guest Adam Darrow has always been a thrill-seeking risk taker. Early on, that meant participating in extreme sports, of course. But not until he met ONE woman in particular did he ever consider dating and relating to women an extreme sport unto itself. She made it very clear that she was not the kind of woman who wanted to settle down with one man. That led to a path of sexual discovery for Adam that would make Mickey Rourke's character in 9 1/2 Weeks jealous. So who was this woman, and what made her so tantalizingly different? And how did Adam's response to her--and what she offered--differ from most guys who might dream about finding a chick and getting into 'The Lifestyle' with her? When Adam's new girlfriend was quite public about their non-monogamous relationship, how did Adam's family and friends respond? And did he care? How did this new relationship affect his masculinity? Well, given they got married and stayed together for over ten years, you can already sense how amazing the story of this adventure is going to get. What happened when Adam entered the 'underground' sex society of New York City, and what was that like? Were there any pitfalls or was it all pleasure? How did Adam feel about sharing his girl with other men...even in real time? Is desiring and living such a lifestyle a matter of nature or nurture? And is there such thing as 'cheating' is a completely open relationship? Is monogamous intimacy overrated? Can you go back to monogamy after extreme non-monogamy, even if you want to? Ultimately, would Adam recommend a non-monogamous lifestyle? These are some powerful questions amidst one of the most shocking episodes in recent memory, but it all made for a great episode. === SNIPPETS FROM THE SUMMIT === It has happened to all of us. We break up with a girlfriend (or even get a divorce), then we hear through the grapevine what absolutely depraved and naughty sex acts she's now freely engaging in with the next guy. Sure, although we can be the recipients of such ego-boosting behavior when we're 'the next guy' ourselves, it really does feel like a kick in the crotch when it happens to us. So then, how do we mitigate against ever being subject to this harsh news? Well, it's easy to say you shouldn't care, but you know you do. Thankfully there are real, practical steps to make women feel more comfortable performing 'sexual favors' for you that she may genuinely have never bestowed upon any guy before you...along with clear ways to know she's telling the truth. Co-Hosts Michael and Courtney Allison (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/allison) A lot of guys think if you screw up with a woman at all, that's it. She's GONE, and you don't get a second chance. Admittedly, I'm on record as saying that if a couple breaks up, it's probably for good reason and they shouldn't get back together. Plenty of other dating advice folks are with me on that. BUT, along come Michael and Courtney Allison, who have been on again, off again, on AGAIN, and off AGAIN...and finally together once more, this time for the long haul. Well, okay...what makes their case different? How did they 'crack the code'? Well, as it turns out, there are plenty of reasons why couples split that CAN be fixed, either by uncovering very real road blocks and/or some good old-fashioned self work. What are the past traumas Michael and Courtney had to work through before they were truly relationship ready? What did they go through in the past that caused seemingly insurmountable problems in their relationship? And hey...how did they eventually indeed surmount them? How did they finally come back together after TWO divorces? And an even better question, how is it they finally KNOW they're each other's 'ride or die' nowadays? I have to tell you, Courtney and Michael are compelling, and I personally believe they've figured it all out. Remember, Michael is a returning guest and the first episode he co-hosted was all about the almost surreal trauma he's faced and how he overcame that personally. This time, the meta-level conversation with Courtney joining us as well certainly takes everything to the relationship level. Overall, listen in for exactly the positive motivation so many of us as men need, especially with so many guys feeling like they should give up on women to begin with.
