Glen Fladeboe, turning 50, sits down with his sister Kristine for a conversation celebrating his personal and professional journey.  From conducting 1,600+ fundraising auctions to selling farmland, Glen has spent over 30 years raising hundreds of millions of dollars for nonprofits while maintaining strong family values.  He credits his success to childhood lessons about integrity and hard work, his faith, and the support of his wife Stephanie and their two daughters.  Glen shares how he has learned to balance ambition with presence at home, discusses the power of community generosity, and reveals personal passions like distance running (16 marathons, including five sub-3-hour achievements).  A story of purpose, resilience, inspiration, and the ripple effect one person’s life can have on the world!  Glen Fladeboe has two professional passions - fundraising and farmland.  Glen has been the driving force in building Fladeboe Advancement into a premier benefit auction and donor engagement consulting company. With over 30 years of experience as a professional auctioneer and fundraiser, he is proud to be part of a second-generation, family-owned business.  Glen grew up on a farm in Kandiyohi, County MN and those farm roots have guided his entire career.  After graduating from Hamline University in 1998 with a degree in communications, Glen soon after obtained his real estate license with a focus and specialty in farmland transactions. The business became a passion for him as he was surrounded by families and farmland enthusiasts with similar life stories – people with a connection and interest in the land who are often beneficiaries of farmland. He takes particular interest in working with owners to determine the current value of their land, and assisting them in the sale of a farm through a public marketing effort or privately to a family member or tenant. He lives with his and wife and two daughters in the Twin Cities and in his spare time enjoys his cabin on the south shore of Lake Superior or driving tractor on his family’s farms in MN; in the Fall he cherishes pheasant hunting with his black lab Sigurd on his wife’s family farm in South Dakota. Captain Karen Ruth - Delta Air Lines’ longest-tenured serving female captain sits down with host Kristine to reflect on her historic and distinguished 40+ year career.  Upon her retirement, Karen was 17 out of 17,200 pilots in seniority.  They discuss her final flight from Dublin to Minneapolis on April 18th, 2026.  Karen shares her origin story - how two Northwest Airline pilots in her Burnsville, MN neighborhood recognized “the right stuff” in a 15 year old and mentored her.  She discusses the responsibility of commanding 300 passengers and navigating some of the world’s most challenging runways.  Karen celebrates her two daughters Kate and Molly, who are both now commercial pilots.  They discuss and reflect on the legacy she has built through mentorship, training other pilots, humility and the power of saying yes to opportunities! She has had a number of meaningful experiences in her young adult life such as studying at Wheaton College, running a youth hostel in Norway, living in Germany and Austria through the ministry of Torchbearers International, and working in the Christian Nonprofit world. Kay is the co-founder and executive director of Love2Hope, who works with audiences across America to understand human trafficking and their role in fighting it. She is a trained Ambassador of Hope with Shared Hope International, an experienced educator, and a national speaker who has presented to thousands of people in 27 states. Kay holds a degree in Education from Minot State University.
