In 2021, Riccardo Waites and a group of volunteers dedicated to equity work in Central Oregon launched The Good Deeds Project. The project's mission includes identifying properties with racially restrictive language in their deeds, educating the public about these deeds, and helping property owners to a pathway to remove the racist language. Riccardo is owner and operator of WBR We Black Radio, which recently produced an online map identifying properties with racially restrictive deeds in Bend.
