Descripción

I know, you’ve probably heard the word “boundaries” more times than you can count and you’ve heard the speeches about protecting your peace and upholding boundaries with others and yes, I’m sure you get it by now. But what about our boundaries with ourselves? Are those healthy? Are we practicing upholding and honoring our own boundaries with ourselves? Are we calling ourselves out when we engage in toxic behavior and patterns? Are we giving ourselves what we need? And if not, are we doing anything about it? Sometimes we are the problem. Sometimes we are the reason bad patterns repeat. Speak up for yourself but also to yourself. Know and take action on what you need. Say to others “if I expect it from you it’s because I expect it from me.” Take accountability. Maybe you’re upholding their boundaries, but maybe by not upholding our own, we’ll never really be the healthiest, happiest versions of ourselves we can be. When you look in the mirror, who do you want to see? Someone who made their own choices and changes or someone who just gave up and let it be? ~ xoxo. s. 🌹

Calling Ourselves Out

An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force…or, until we call ourselves out! F1 drivers push their cars to the limit, going around and around the tracks at hundreds of miles an hour, often times with mechanical issues that go unfixed purely for the sake of the race until an issue becomes so severe they have to stop or be stopped in the pits. We’re not so different. We get so wrapped up in living at a hundred miles an hour, getting so caught up in mindless monotony, we often don’t stop to check ourselves or call ourselves out. That is, (usually) until an outside force. Thank you to my outside forces. And to myself and everyone else in the pits, it’s okay to be in progress. It’s okay to be confused. It’s okay to be a little bit broken and lost. But we all come out of the pits eventually. We’ll come back better than ever and off to the races again soon. ~ xoxo. s.
