#20 Get to know Ayla, a unique local voice

It’s been a big couple of years for Ayla. The Sunshine Coast / Brisbane songwriter has been honing her craft since the release of breakout EP When The World Ends in 2015. At 21 years old, she’s just announced a brand new EP and shared a few songs which show her growth and direction as a songwriter. The Shortlist caught up with Ayla to chat about her journey so far and to find out the finer details of her new EP. She also treats us to a live performance of latest track, ‘Shallow End.’ Under our intro you'll hear a beaut instrumental from Moaning Lisa. It's from their song 'Shoe In' and you can check them out at facebook.com/moaninglisaband.  See omnystudio.com/listener [https://omnystudio.com/listener] for privacy information.

#18 Brisbane's electronic wunderkind Golden Vessel

Australia has a wealth of incredibly talented young artists rising through the ranks, and Brissy-based wunderkind Golden Vessel is right at the front of the pack. The project of 20-year-old Max Byrne has been making music since childhood, honing his skills and finally taking the leap into his solo project. Collaboration is key for Golden Vessel, and already in his teenage years he has worked with the likes of Mallrat, Woodes, Caleb Hodges, Elkkle — the list goes on and on. Ro chatted with Max the day before he turned 20 to chat everything Golden Vessel — from the beginning of the project, to the importance of teamwork and what the GV endgame looks like. Under our intro you'll hear a beaut instrumental from Moaning Lisa. It's from their song 'Shoe In' and you can check them out at facebook.com/moaninglisaband.  See omnystudio.com/listener [https://omnystudio.com/listener] for privacy information.

episode #17 Going solo: Introducing Yoke Lore artwork

#17 Going solo: Introducing Yoke Lore

Yoke Lore is the Brooklyn-based solo project of musician Adrian Galvin. After growing up in and artist family, and immersing himself in the arts, Galvin found his musical passion as a drummer. After making music in bands Walk The Moon and Yellerkin came to an end, circumstances led Galvin to step out on his own and thus Yoke Lore was born. His music brings together a variety of sounds and genres, from his signature folksie banjo,to pop elements, and lush electronics, every piece deconstructed and reconstructed, looped and layered to create a wall of sound that is intrinsically Yoke Lore. Under our intro you'll hear a beaut instrumental from Moaning Lisa. It's from their song 'Shoe In' and you can check them out at facebook.com/moaninglisaband.  See omnystudio.com/listener [https://omnystudio.com/listener] for privacy information.
