The Slurring Bee May was buzzin' at The Virgil Los Angeles last month, with magic jackets, maharajah karma, and myths of feminine hygiene guiding our return champ to defend her antennae crown! From stars of Solo commercials to disgruntled roommates to superfans of Howlin' Ray's, we had a lovely and supportive hive of smart aleck spellers (who one-by-one got too drunk to spell correctly, until we ended up with a winner! SLURRING BEE APRIL!

It's a regulation spelling bee... with shots!! A special swarm of smartalecks descended upon our hive of hilarity this month, coming in from nameless New Jersey villages, Beverly Hills adjacent, and a hop-skip-jump from the Virgil. But in April's extra-exciting boozy-brainy competition, veteran contestant Zoe goes head-to-head (or stinger-to-stinger) with relative new-bee Stiletto for a rapid-fire countdown to the crown! In the end, it might have been Zoe's childhood devotion to "Great Big Words" by Tom Chapin that made her adult spelling bee dreams come true... #listenlaughlearn and join us for our next monthly edition, coming at you live from The Virgil on May 30!!!

SLURRING BEE MARCH!

In this first-ever Slurring Bee FRIYAY, a motley crew of drunken spellers descended upon The Virgil Los Angeles in particularly rare form. It was Good Friday, the first night of Passover, and The Slurring Bee all on one night!! Things were bound to get wild. Contestants globe-trotted in from India, Spain, and China to compete for the revered antennae crown, but in the end it was local boy Ray (no shame about him) who claimed the ultimate prize and became our March Queen Bee. Do you know what his winning word was after five shots??? TINTINNABULATION. You try that!
