Those connections helped give form to KindKeith’s most recent musical group Mockjaw.  KindKeith’s music, influenced by jazz and RnB, explores their emotions throughout different life experiences. For instance, the hardships they faced during jazz school, finding community as a Black Queer person, and the bliss of being in a better place towards the end of the pandemic. This is Dré’s Dispatch with Cloud Companion where we chat with Aaron Chávez (he/they) to discuss the themes and inspirations for the project.  Chavèz is a local artist in the Austin TX music scene and front person for Cloud Companion, a contemplative bedroom pop group.
