Descripción

It's raw, it's real, and maybe even a little pretentious. It's the final episode. Thank you for listening. Until next time.

episode You Should be Listening to Grayscale artwork

You Should be Listening to Grayscale

Look. It's been an ugly year and a half. The only positive thing to come out of this time for so many of us has been the music put out by brave creatives, channeling our emotions into song and connecting us in a time when we need connection more than ever. Grayscale is one of those artists. With the release of their latest album, Umbra, they've managed to take pop punk in a whole new direction, avoiding capitalizing off of the rise of a formulaic genre and instead taking it into new territory. Their raw and honest lyrics, often dark, sometimes hopeful, soar over the top of their impressive musicality. If you're not yet listening to Grayscale, you should be. Enjoy. episode You Should be Listening to The Rocket Summer artwork

You Should be Listening to The Rocket Summer

Bryce Avary, aka The Rocket Summer, wrote, recorded, and produced his first full length album Calendar Days in 2003, at the age of 20. Since then, he has released six additional full length albums, as well as numerous EPs, B-sides, and singles. For any fan of pop-punk or pop-rock, The Rocket Summer is a must-listen. Avary's music is melodic, powerful, catchy, and full of metaphors about faith, love, and the beauty to be found in life's struggles. Even Harry Styles is a fan of The Rocket Summer, so clearly you should be too! On this episode, I take you album by album, sharing my favorite songs and explaining what they mean and why I think they deserve your attention. Rock on, friends.
