Descripción

Death and funerals can be a hard topic to talk about, but I had such a positive experience with Browning Funeral Home that I wanted to bring Jake Browning Hester on the show to talk about the funeral process. My goal is that if we demystify funerals, families and friends can have a more open and honest discussion about death, about life, and about what our wishes are when we pass.

Episode 101: EVPL's Erika Qualls Barnett talks library upcoming eclipse programs

Anyone else getting fired up about this spring's solar eclipse event??? The next total solar eclipse visible from the contiguous U.S. will not take place until 2044. So don't miss out on all of the fun EVPL programming and educational events leading up to the event. Learn more from Erika Qualls Barnett on our latest podcast! More than a dozen U.S. states from Texas to Maine are in the path of totality (including our tristate area) for the April 8 phenomenon, when the moon entirely blocks the face of the sun as it passes between the sun and Earth, according to NASA. “The sky will darken, as if it were dawn or dusk,” NASA said on its website. “Weather permitting, people along the path of totality will see the sun’s corona, or outer atmosphere, which is usually obscured by the bright face of the sun.” Totality lasts as long as around four-and-a-half minutes depending on where the viewer is.
