At its center stands a temple devoted to “The Keeper of Thoughts.” And within it… a towering truth: A 20-foot statue of a Mind Flayer.

Campaign 2 Ep 13: Road to Woldenburg

After uncovering the Codex of the Fractured Mind, the group returns to Orbach to prepare for the journey ahead. With supplies gathered and questions mounting, their next destination becomes clear: Woldenburg, the capital of the Hofsfeldian Empire. Somewhere within the empire’s scholars, archives, and hidden knowledge may be the key to deciphering the cryptic codes buried within the Codex—codes that could reveal why the party bears fragments of the same mysterious symbol and what destiny may be unfolding around them. But traveling across an empire is never simple, and the deeper they dig into the Codex’s secrets, the clearer it becomes that powerful forces may already be watching.

After infiltrating the desert cult and securing their sacred text—the Codex of the Fractured Mind—the party regroups to study its contents. Within its pages lie fragmented prophecies, disturbing illustrations, and passages that feel far too personal. The shared visions. The burning marks. The mysterious elven figure. None of it was random. As they pore over the Codex, the group begins uncovering connections that suggest something far larger is unfolding—something that may have been set in motion years ago.

After uncovering connections between their burning markings and whispers of an ancient cult, the party follows a trail of clues to an abandoned ranch on the outskirts of the desert. But the ranch isn’t as abandoned as it seems. A sect tied to the mysterious symbol has taken residence there, and whatever ritual or purpose binds them may be directly connected to the fragments each party member bears. If the group wants answers about why they were marked—and by whom—they may have to step directly into the cult’s domain to find them.
