Ep. 30: Against the Odds - Surthriving 16 years after a Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis

In this inspiring episode, we meet Chris Parrish, a remarkable individual who defied the odds by surviving stage IV pancreatic cancer; diagnosed in 2008. Despite experiencing symptoms for five years, her diagnosis was delayed due to the elusive nature of the disease and the fact that she was only 35. Since her diagnosis, she has not only survived but thrived, becoming a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges. Chris founded the Purple Iris Foundation to raise awareness, provide support and hope for others diagnosed with cancer in Maine.  Chris's journey is all the more remarkable as she also faced a secondary challenge—a traumatic brain injury resulting from a fall on the ice. Despite this additional hurdle, she remains steadfast in her determination to overcome both of these health challenges and be a beacon of light for others.
