After more than a month in Argentina, I finally got my maté set. Maté is a South American caffein-rich infused drink [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mate_(beverage)]. There is an etiquette to drinking maté that makes it such an interesting beverage! Also, there's so much preference in how one prepares maté, like adding sugar, honey, coca leaves, or even orange peels!  It's such a great medium to connect with people, like having coffee together but on a more personal level because you pass the maté around the table. In this episode, I'm very happy to share my first maté session with Santiago from Mexico, and Alfons from Germany, with Dougie from Scotland joining nearing the end of the episode. We'll just be having a conversation while sipping them maté. During the next month, I will be travelling with these three awesome fellas meeting them in different parts of Bolivia. Head up this path BUT BEWARE OF THE TRAMS. Hey everyone, how's it going? My trip in Brazil has been very relaxing albeit it being a rather short one. Nonetheless, Brazil has a lot more to offer and it is without a question a place that I will return. I started my Brazilian journey in Rio de Janeiro that had fortunately dispelled all the stigma and bad publicity it has been suffering. Reluctantly, I had to leave for São Paulo for a short break of sorts from backpacking. I'd like to add that contrary to popular belief that Brazil is a tropical rain-and-sun all year round, it's not. It got as cold as 10°C at night in São Paulo, and 6°C during the day in Foz de Iguaçu.Foz de Iguaçu was the last and final stop in Brazil to visit one of the great Seven Natural Wonders of the World. southwest corner of Europe divided among Portugal, Spain, and Andorra. As you may know, if you've been following, I left London, made a stopover in Paris, and zipped straight down to Portugal through Spain. I was lucky enough to have attended the Bonfires of Saint John, a midsummer festival celebration in Barcelona. A cultural education in both Barcelona and Madrid. On top of that, I had a delicious meal in the world's oldest restaurant in Madrid, Sobrino de Botín, founded in 1725. Ancient food house aside, tapas was also something not to be missed! After having my tummy stuffed with meat, commonly known as carne, it was another night bus for Porto from Madrid. Porto is such a beautiful small-to-medium sized city until I had to head off to the capital, Lisbon. In addition, several other beach towns called Cascais, and Albufeira. I spent lots of time enjoying the sun, getting a tan, and having seawater up my nose. So here's my trip around the last bit of Europe before I head off to a brand new continent, South America!
