Descripción

In this episode of True Adagio, I’m joined by Majo Birdsall for an honest conversation about trauma, trust, and safety. We explore how trauma affects the body and brain, why safety must come before trust, and how faith can coexist with mental health struggles without shame. This episode is for anyone navigating PTSD, betrayal, deconstruction, or the quiet question of “How do I trust again?” My prayer is that this conversation meets you where you are and reminds you that healing doesn’t require rushing it begins with slowing down. Healing Church Hurt: A Slow + Honest Conversation w/ Dalmond Bodden

In this episode of the True Adagio Podcast, I sit down with Pastor, artist, and creative Dalmond Bodden for an honest conversation about church hurt—what it is, why it cuts so deeply, and how we can begin healing when the place that was meant to feel like home becomes a place of pain. ✨ Dalmond shares his journey of coming to faith, navigating family struggles, and stepping unexpectedly into ministry. I also open up about my own experiences with trauma, disappointment, and the challenging but freeing work of forgiveness. Together, we explore: • What church hurt really means • Why wounds from Christians feel more personal than other forms of betrayal • How isolation intensifies emotional and spiritual pain • The importance of therapy, safe community, and honest introspection • Why forgiveness is an internal process, not always reconciliation • How to rebuild your faith when people—not God—are the ones who failed you This conversation is vulnerable, grounded, and real. If you’ve ever felt pushed away from God because of church hurt, I want you to know there is hope and healing. 🤍 Resources Mentioned Bethesda Counseling Services Phone: +1 (345) 946 6575 Email: bethesda@candw.ky Address: 68 Mary Street, Unit #4, George Town, Grand Cayman Please stay connected with me on Instagram 🌿 Follow @TrueAdagioPodcast for new episodes and meaningful conversations, and @BelovedOlivia for more personal reflections and behind-the-scenes moments.

Where Love Seeks a Place: Talking Grief with Majo Birdsall - Part 2

This is a two-part conversation about grief, the kind that settles deep in your bones. IG @majobirdsalltherapy beautifully breaks down why grief matters and how it moves through us. The conversation was so powerful that in part two, I couldn’t hold back tears once it all connected. This episode was born from losing my dear cousin Paul. I found myself in grief I didn’t know how to carry, searching for meaning in the heaviness. In this snippet, I share the moments that pushed me to my breaking point: the unraveling, the shadows, and the painful brush with suicidal thoughts. Part two goes even deeper into the why behind it all. What I’m learning is this: Grief is love that needs somewhere to go. It isn’t a puzzle to solve, but a path we walk slowly, bravely, and honestly. And somehow, even when it feels impossible, there is a way through. A softer side is waiting. Rest in Peace, Paul 🤍 Please stay connected with me on Instagram 🌿 Follow @TrueAdagioPodcast for new episodes and meaningful conversations, and @BelovedOlivia for more personal reflections and behind-the-scenes moments.
