Truly Twisted
On Sunday June 24th 1973 The Upstairs Lounge in New Orleans was in full swing with people drinking, dancing, and laughing into the night. This was a well known gay bar in the French Quarter safe from prying eyes as it was located on the second floor. By 8:00PM panic would set in for patrons as a fire blazed on the floor below trapping everyone in the bar upstairs. There was only one exit down a winding set of wooden stairs and it appeared that was where the fire had started. This was no accident, this was an intentional hate crime. So lets talk about it.
