Uncovery
Early motherhood is not hard because it is only difficult. It is hard because it is contradictory. In this episode, Maddie shares the psychological experiment otherwise known as the fourth trimester. Where you are told to “sleep when the baby sleeps” by people who have apparently never met a baby. The phase where you crave help but also need complete operational control over every diaper tab and sleep transition. There is no sleep but plenty of time. Then there is sleep but no time. At three months, there is neither. This episode unpacks the paradoxes: overstimulated yet under-stimulated, fiercely capable yet completely unsure, wildly in love yet occasionally longing for 36 uninterrupted minutes alone. Ten contradictions. One tiny human. Zero linear logic. Love of my life, please go to sleep.
