Descripción

In this month’s episode we welcome Mark Hewitt to the Hadean Press Podcast. In his book, ‘Especially Dangerous: The Snowshill Collection’, Mark examines a remarkable collection of objects as they evolve through history. He traces something of their origins, detailing their functions, meanings and most importantly, the alchemical transformations which occur to the narratives which conglomerate about them as they pass from location to location, custodian to custodian. Mark present the biographies of two men who were vitally important to the curation and presentation of these magical objects, namely Charles Paget Wade and Cecil Williamson, detailing how they came to be in possession of them, how the objects were presented to the public, how they were removed, re-titled and re-storied, and the influences that emanated from them as they experience this re-contextualisation travelling from the Witches Garret of Snowshill Manor to the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle. You can find Mark’s book here: https://hadean.press/products/especially-dangerous-the-snowshill-collection [https://hadean.press/products/especially-dangerous-the-snowshill-collection] His Substack here: https://thirteenthirtyfour.substack.com/ [https://thirteenthirtyfour.substack.com/] And his Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/countfrockula/ [https://www.instagram.com/countfrockula/]

Hadean Press Podcast #37 - Geomancy & Chthonic Light - Dr Al Cummins

This month I am very happy to welcome Dr Alexander Cummins back to the show to discuss his vast library’s worth of video lectures, research and articles on historical Cunning Craft and sorcery. We discuss his research on historical Cunning traditions, the humours in food and drink, the Verum, and the manner in which Spirits are organised and work together in texts such as the Science of Nigromancy. Of course, we also hit on the use and application of stones, bones, words and herbs in our magic and have a fantastic talk on exactly why Dr Al loves the dirt-sorceries and divinations of Geomancy and how the chthonic light of spiritual malarchy brings illumination to our work. You can find all Al’s foundation courses, classes and guides on his website: www.alexandercummins.com [http://www.alexandercummins.com] You are also welcome to reach out to Al via email at: consultantsorcerer@gmail.com [consultantsorcerer@gmail.com] And you can find Al’s Substack, QUOTH here: https://substack.com/@quoth [https://substack.com/@quoth] Other sites to keep your eye on include: https://grimoiresontape.tumblr.com/ [https://grimoiresontape.tumblr.com/] www.instagram.com/grimoiresontape/?hl=en

Hadean Press Podcast #36 - Cyprianus - Simone Kotva

Welcome to the 3-year anniversary of the Hadean Press podcast! This month I am very happy to welcome Simone Kotva, a scholar and practitioner of mysticism and magic who has added a significant quantity of exceptional material to Hadean’s ever-growing series of publications on the subject of the sorcerous Saint Cyprian. Simone’s latest work, Cyprianus: St. Cyprian and the Black Book in Scandinavian Folklore is a translation focusing on recorded oral traditions of Cyprian, the Black School, the Devil and of course, the Book of Cyprian. This collection of myths represents a living record of the local beliefs, superstitions and above all practical advice on how to negotiate an encounter with the spirits of this most powerful book of magic. Cyprianus is available now from Hadean Press at: https://hadean.press/products/cyprian [https://hadean.press/products/cyprian]... Hadean Press Podcast #35 - Three Books of Occult Philosophy - Eric Purdue

In this episode we welcome Eric Purdue to the Hadean Podcast. Eric is the translator of Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa’s, ‘Three Books of Occult Philosophy’, a landmark text in the history of European Natural Philosophy, a subject which Eric assures me includes both Astrology and Magic. Woven together from a panoply of contemporary, medieval, Arabic and Hellenic sources, Agrippa produced a masterpiece of Renaissance philosophy, much maligned by centres of learning in the centuries since its first publication as superstition and debased necromancy. It is only in the modern era where we find Agrippa finally being understood and appreciated for the sheer genius of his contribution to the study and practice of the European tradition of Philosophy, and we find Magic presented as an integral aspect of Agrippa’s Catholic faith being given the dues it is worthy of by modern scholars. You can find more from Eric through his website: https://www.ericpurdue.com/ [https://www.ericpurdue.com/] Or follow him on his Instagram at: instagram.com/traditional_esoterica/ [http://instagram.com/traditional_esoterica/] And of course, if you haven’t already then you can find his translation of Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy at: https://www.innertraditions.com/author/eric-purdue [https://www.innertraditions.com/author/eric-purdue]

Hadean Press Podcast #33 - She of the Night - Idlu Lili Regulus

Welcome to our first podcast of 2026. The Hadean team is very happy to announce that we will be expanding our interviews to include authors we have found to be especially important to the exploration of Folklore, Grimoires and the Underworld, especially for practitioners of magic as well as those curious about its long history. In this month’s podcast we are very happy to introduce my friend and fellow practitioner, Lili Regulus and their monumental two-volume exploration of one of sorcery’s most notoriously chthonic and untamed forces, Lilith, her history in context and the many threads of culture, religion and magic which have woven together to usher her into the 21st century. ‘She of the Night’, was released last year and is a tour de force of knowledge and spellcraft conjured into being by Lili Regulus and put out into the World by the excellent folks at Theion Publishing. In this episode we discuss the origins of Lilith, the magica materia of the Hoopoe and Hyena, the qualities of Light-Fleeing Spirits, the Lady of the Mountains, the Seven Winds, the enigmatic Four Queens and the nature of the Untamed Feminine. You can find Lili’s book through Theion Publishing here: https://theionpublishing.com/shop/ilr_she_of_the_night/ [https://theionpublishing.com/shop/ilr_she_of_the_night/] And you can find more from them through their Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/idlulili/ [https://www.instagram.com/idlulili/] Please check out the Occult Library for reviews and details on books you might be curious about. https://www.occultlibrary.org/books-database/she-of-the-night [https://www.occultlibrary.org/books-database/she-of-the-night]
