Descripción

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. No matter where you are in your life, mental health is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. This can affect anyone in the world, including you. In this episode, Lemar & Esmeralda tackle this topic, talking about how mental illnesses are often overlooked and disregarded even today. Even with their personal culture, often it is not acknowledged enough. They further discuss the gender norms regarding mental illness, suicide, and the detrimental effects this can inflict to an individual if not treated.  Please text HOME to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor to receive mental health support. If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 (800) 273-8255. In life-threatening situations, please immediately call 911.
