Because of the Military Sexual Trauma, she endured while on active duty led her to write a book titled Stories from the Front Pain, Betrayal, and Resilience on the MST Battlefield. The book tells true accounts of sexual trauma individuals were victims of while on active duty in the military. The book won the silver medal from the Military Writers Society of America in September 2023. Lisa has written a second book titled Latina Warrior that tells her story of being an author and an artist and how this has helped her on her journey.
