In a phrase I never expected to utter: I wholeheartedly endorse the upcoming Chinese regulations! Yes, China is getting ready to crack down on so-called "digital humans", requiring proper labeling as such as well as forbidding any deepfakes based on real people without their informed consent. Many other restrictions are proposed as well, and in this episode I go through the details and explain how such regulations are sorely needed here in my country (the U.S.)—though I don't trust anything coming out of our current regime.
