Kids these Days & Beta Test

Star Trek Returns with it's ambitious entry; Star Fleet Academy! The Pilot, "Kids These days" We see how the events of the season start off with Captain Aki chases down the pirate boss Nus Baraka. His capture and sentencing also affects young Caleb as his mother, Anisha, is also sentenced breaking up their family. In "Beta Test" the academic year starts and Caleb isn't sure about his future in the academy. A delegation form Beta Zed arrives and Caleb is tasked with showing the leader's daughter around the campus. Note: We are aware of the discussions around Star Fleet Academy and that it has been canceled as Paramount takes a different direction with its IP. We're aware of the negativity around the show and the manufactured culture war points that have been lobbed at it. Star Trek has always been a commentary on the current political climates of the times the shows were aired. Each show had it's criticisms as it tackled race, culture, politics and ideology. Star Fleet Academy hasn't done anything different from TOS to Voyager. What has changed are people's sensibilities about the topics Star Trek addresses. We honestly don't care what negative things people have to say without anything of substance to support their arguments. We will continue to review this project and share our thoughts on what we think is successful and what we think needs more work.
