Check out the details and follow this guide for information that the amateurs don’t understand.   1. Does it present in the raw when run into a bucket? If yes, then part of the solution involves carbon filtration.  2. Is it in the hot water only? If YES it may be an anode rod issue and recommend an electric anode rod.   3. Does the customer have a hot-water recirculating system anywhere in the house? If YES it may allow an anode issue to also show up in the cold side.  4. Is it present in the shower? If YES then it is probably not a “supply line” issue because the shower doesn’t use them.   5. Is it present in only a certain area like a bathroom sink AND is NOT a sewer gas issue? If Yes then it is most likely a supply line issue and may also need an Ultraviolet system if bacterial.   6. Does it go away after a few seconds of running the water? If YES, it is likely a supply line issue and may also need an Ultraviolet system (if bacterial).   A safe approach is to have a UV system and a carbon filter installed, and an electric anode rode (if applicable). Supply lines are rarely the problem but would be the final solution in areas that still require it.

Ep 41 What is the deal with Mercury, and rare trivia facts

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2259910/fan_mail/new] In this episode we were curious about the mercury levels in fish and how this happened. What we discovered was bizarre, namely because mercury is a metal and in its elemental form it is heavier than lead yet it quickly evaporates into the air. This puts some perspective on those fluorescent bulbs that few of us actually bag before tossing out. It has had many uses throughout time with thermometers and barometers being some of the more common ones.   It actually changes into other forms and not all of those transformations are fully understood.   Learn why “traditional “ gold refining (amalgamation) methods contaminate our environment with about 650-1000 tons of mercury every year.
