Waves of Perception
Under the shadow of the Koʻolaus, where wild pigs still roam and the trade winds speak in riddles, we light the fire for the very first episode of Waves of Perception. You’ll hear chickens, chainsaws, and wisdom passed through generations without ever touching paper. We set out to talk about culture—to define it, dissect it, maybe even stand above it. But that’s where the illusion breaks. Culture doesn’t sit still. It’s not a subject—it’s the sea itself. And the deeper we tried to go, the more it pulled away like the tide, revealing layers, stories, and contradictions we weren’t ready to hold. This episode becomes a meditation on humility, on how close you can get to something without ever truly grasping it. We scratch the surface and realize: that is the depth.
