Reaching Bear Project 2020: Promoting the worlds oldest and greatest sport in Western North Carolina. In 2008, after a long success career in wrestling, I set my sights on winning a Masters age group world medal in Russia. At the time I was working as a wilderness guide mentoring teens. While working and training for this tournament in the wilderness of Western North Carolina, the teens have me a trail name of "Reaching Bear ". I fell just short of my goal in 2008, but three year later in Albania, I fulfilled my goal winning a Master Freestyle Wrestling Bronze Medal. Now, my new Reaching Bear goal is to help promote the worlds oldest and greatest sport in Western North Carolina. This 5 part project will include Podcasts, documentaries, local result write ups, live audio feed of a high school match, and Athlete Spotlights. The goal is to simply tell the amazing wrestling stories that are happening in Western North Carolina...
