The Israel Prosperity Gospel

Responding to Jonathan Cahn: Blessing Israel, Prosperity Gospel, and Genesis 12. In this casual voice-recorded episode of Coffee with Hales, I respond off the cuff to a Jonathan Cahn sermon about Israel, replacement theology, and end-times claims. I critique what I see as a manipulative “prosperity Israel promise,” where financial support for Israel is presented as a way to receive financial blessing, and refusal is framed as bringing a curse. I question what Scripture he’s using and examine Genesis 12, arguing it’s God’s call and promise to Abram, not a command for the church to financially bless modern Israel. I emphasize that the ultimate blessing promised to the nations is Jesus Christ and the gospel, not wealth, and invite you to research and push back as needed. 00:00 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A] Casual Episode Setup 00:07 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=7s] Why Respond to Cahn 00:40 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=40s] Bless Israel Claim 01:21 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=81s] Prosperity Gospel Critique 02:54 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=174s] Manipulation and Curses 07:06 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=426s] Checking Genesis 12 07:46 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=466s] Christ as the Blessing 08:13 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiJwNX4Ru4A&t=493s] Wrap Up and Challenge

Do Christians Have To Keep The Sabbath? Did The Law Had an Expiration Date?

Old Testament Law, the New Covenant, and Why We’re Not Required to Keep the Sabbath In this episode of Coffee With Hales, I walk through what the Old Testament law (Torah) is, why the Sinai covenant was conditional for Israel, and why reading these laws requires audience relevancy and cultural context. I explain how the laws set Israel apart, often protected vulnerable people, and ultimately pointed forward to Jesus. Using passages from Matthew, Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, and Hebrews, I argue that Jesus fulfilled the law, making the old covenant obsolete, including the Sabbath as a requirement. I show how the New Testament summarizes God’s will as loving God and loving others, and how that shifts obedience from ritual to heart posture and action. I close with encouragement to live securely in the unconditional new covenant and three reflection questions about rituals, humility, and practically showing the gospel. 00:00 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04] Welcome and Topic 00:23 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=23s] Sinai Covenant Basics 02:05 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=125s] Reading Law in Context 04:27 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=267s] Torah Purpose and Scope 06:48 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=408s] Jesus Fulfills the Law 08:02 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=482s] New Covenant Promised 10:48 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=648s] Law Obsolete and Sabbath 12:25 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=745s] Greatest Commandment 14:52 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=892s] Love in Practice 17:33 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=1053s] Living Water in Dark Times 20:11 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ5NOaUDQ04&t=1211s] Reflection and Farewell

What Manna Teaches Us When We’re Weary | Exodus 16

Manna, Trials, and Resting in Faith (Exodus 16) | Coffee With Hales In this episode of Coffee With Hales, I walk through Exodus 16 and the story of manna—God “raining bread from heaven” after freeing Israel from slavery—showing how their daily gathering was a test of trust and dependence. I highlight the contrast between earlier “rains” of judgment and this rain of provision, and how disobedience (hoarding or saving manna overnight) revealed a struggle to rely on Yahweh day by day. I connect manna to a biblical view of trials, using James 1, 1 Peter, and Lamentations to show how hardship can mature faith and remind us that God’s mercies are new every morning. I also cover why manna was kept as a testimony, how the Sabbath is first introduced through manna as rest in faith, and I end with reflection questions on worry, reminders of God’s faithfulness, and learning to rest in Him.  00:00 Welcome and Theme 00:37 Israelites Complain 01:18 Bread From Heaven 02:04 Manna Rules and Test 04:38 Trials Build Faith 06:14 Mercies Every Morning 09:05 Manna in the Ark 11:15 Manna and Sabbath 13:52 Resting in Faith Today 15:11 Reflection and Closing

Question Israel… Get Labeled... The Growing Divide in Christianity.

In this episode of Coffee with Hales, I continue my series on how institutional Christianity has been pulled into left-right political control, and I respond to a clip from Understanding the Times with Jan Markell about “Laodicean” churches and Israel. I argue they frame churches as apostate for not addressing October 7, equate non–pro-Israel positions with antisemitism or even Nazi Germany, and dismiss alternate eschatology (replacement/fulfillment theology) as coming from figures like Tucker Carlson or Candace Owens. I push back on the idea that Israel is the “true north” for determining someone’s theology or even whether they’re a real Christian, and I say believers should be allowed to ask questions. I cite various articles and examples about Gaza, ceasefires, civilian harm, foreign policy, and intelligence allegations to explain why questions arise, and I encourage viewers to study Scripture and check out Pastor David Curtis for a non-dispensational biblical perspective. 00:00 Welcome and Series Setup 01:19 Laodicea and October 7 04:39 Nazi Comparison Critique 06:09 Tucker Candace Strawman 10:42 Israel as Theological Litmus 13:19 Fact Checking Gaza Claims 20:39 Blood Libel and Foreign Wars 29:21 Replacement Theology Labels 31:57 Final Encouragement and Resources SOURCES: Brean Bible Church | Who Is Israel? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6by-UR_TBEY [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6by-UR_TBEY] Other Sermons on Israel: https://www.youtube.com/@BereanBibleChurch/search?query=Who%20Is%20Israel%20 [https://www.youtube.com/@BereanBibleChurch/search?query=Who%20Is%20Israel%20] More information on Epsiten: James Corbett: https://corbettreport.com/epstein-israel-and-secret-societies-on-the-ripple-effect/ [https://corbettreport.com/epstein-israel-and-secret-societies-on-the-ripple-effect/] Articles from the video: https://jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jewish-members-of-the-118th-congress https://www.cfr.org/articles/us-aid-israel-four-charts https://costsofwar.watson.brown.edu/paper/HumanTollGaza https://www.trackaipac.com/trump https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/31/the-mathematics-of-starvation-how-israel-caused-a-famine-in-gaza https://truthout.org/articles/despite-ceasefire-israel-continues-to-expand-occupation-of-southern-lebanon/ https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67241290 https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpw004xqxnjo https://www.democracynow.org/2024/7/12/israel https://www.facebook.com/MiddleEastEye/videos/us-secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-has-contradicted-himself-and-scrambled-to-clar/1403110011011834/ https://x.com/kennardmatt/status/1742943360304771513 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2004/12/8/israeli-soldiers-shoot-boy-for-fun https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/02/gaza-palestinian-children-killed-idf-israel-war IDF Soldier Interviewed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35xqZnyPM7w https://www.lemonde.fr/en/les-decodeurs/article/2024/04/03/40-beheaded-babies-the-itinerary-of-a-rumor-at-the-heart-of-the-information-battle-between-israel-and-hamas_6667274_8.html
